According to centercinemapress, in this event, which is known as the most prestigious festival of documentary cinema in the world, the film “Water, Wind, Soil, Bread” by Mehdi Zamanpour Kiasari received special recognition from the jury of the children’s and youth documentary section, and “Face Painter” Jafar Najafi’s film also won the Fipershi Award (International Film Critics Association) along with a cash prize of 5,000 euros
This year, the award for the best feature documentary film in the IDFA main competition was given to “Mr. Landsbergis” by “Sergei Luznitsa”, a joint production of Lithuania and the Netherlands, and the award for the best director went to “Children of May” by “Dim Ha Lu” from Vietnam
The documentary “I try not to forget” by Pegah Ahangarani in its first world premiere in the short documentary competition section of the IDF festival, the documentary “Night Practice” by Abbas Kiarostami in the “Concentration: Future Time” section and the documentary “Tonight Practice” co-produced by Ashkan Nejati And Mehran Nematollahi present in the “Luminous” section were also other representatives of Iranian cinema in this film event
