The main competition section
Golden Lion Best Film: “All the Beauty and the Blood” directed by Laura Potras from America
Jury Grand Prize Silver Lion: “Saint Omar” by Alice Diop
Silver Lion for Best Director: Luca Guadagnino for “Bones and All”
Jury’s Special Award: “There is no bear” by Jafar Panahi
Best Actor: Colin Farrell for “Banshee of Inishreen “
Best Actress: Cate Blanchett for “Tar”
Best New Actor ( Marcello Mastroianni Award ): Taylor Russell in “Bones and All”
Best Screenplay: Martin McDonagh for “The Banshees of Inishreen “
Lion of the Future (best first film of the festival): “Saint Omar” by Alice Diop from France
Horizons section
Best film: “World War III” by Homan Sidi
Best Director: Titza Kovi and Rainer Frimmel for ” Vera “
Hight Jury Special Award: Damin Kosor for the movie “Ban and Salt”
Audience Award of the Horizons section: ” Nizwa ” by Sudadeh Kadan from Syria
Best Screenplay: Fernando Gonzoni for Blanquita
Best Actor: Mohsen Tanabandeh for “World War III”
Best Actress: Vera Gamma for the movie “Vera”
This year, the judging panel of the main competition was held under the chairmanship of Julien Moore, and Leila Hatami, Kazuo Ishiguro , Leonardo DiCastanzo , Audrey Divan and Rodrigo Soroguin were members of the judging panel
The judges of the horizons section were: Isabelle Kusht , Laura B. Sepuri, Antonio Campos , Sophia Gemma and Edward Winthrop
The winners of the secondary sections
There were winners in other categories as well. In the Horizons section, Extra awarded its best film award based on people’s votes to “Hanging Gardens” by Ahmed Yassin Al- Daraji , produced in Iraq
The side section of the Venice Days also chose the film ” Blue Jean” by Georgia Oakley with the audience award and Graham Foy , the director of the film “Miss” with the Future Cinema Award
The 37th edition of the Venice Film Festival Critics’ Week gave the best film award to David Wagner ‘s ” Aismeyer ” and honored the film “In Hell 69” by Teo Montoya
The Venice Film Festival was also awarded to the film “Argentina, 1985” by Sanitago Mitra as the best film. This film, which mixes comedy and drama , is about the famous trial of Argentine military leaders in 1985
A FIP question from the section of ” Ofoqha ” / Critics’ Week was also awarded to “Autobiography” written by Maqbool Mubarak . In this film, the director portrayed the portrait of two generations under one roof and in this way he expertly examined the painful period of transition in his country
The red carpet of this event started at 6 o’clock local time and the award ceremony at 7 o’clock (9:30 Iran time). At 8 o’clock, the press conference was held by the jury
