Venice Film Festival winners announced + names

The restored version of Bahram Beizaei’s “Basho, the Little Stranger” was screened in the Classics section of the Venice Film Festival this year and ultimately won the Best Film award in that section

This year’s Venice Film Festival’s Classics section will feature the global premiere of restored versions of 18 cinematic masterpieces from different countries that have been restored over the past year by archives, cultural institutions, and film production companies

The film “Basho Gharibeh Kuchuk” by Bahram Beizaei, produced in 1986, was restored by Roshana Studio with the support of the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents and presented at the Venice Film Festival by the French company “mk2 Films”

Best Retouched Film: “Bashu, Little Stranger,” directed by Bahram Beizaei

Special Jury Prize: Negar Metwally with the film “Less than 5 Grams of Saffron”

Best Film Award in the Horizons category: David Pablos for “On the Road”
